4 Quick Stretches to Do at Work
Do you spend most of your work day sitting at a desk? Your feet might not get sore. But you can still end up with achy muscles from being sedentary. Stretch Your Triceps
You can do this one while sitting down or standing up. A few times during your work day, do the following steps:
- Raise and bend one arm
- Pull your bent elbow toward your head with the other hand
- Hold that position for about 30 seconds
- Repeat steps using the other arm
Stretch Your Knees and Hips
Before or after walking around a bit during work breaks, do the following steps:
- Hold one knee and pull it toward your chest
- Stay in that position for about 30 seconds
- Repeat steps with the other knee
Stretch Your Neck
Have an achy neck from looking at your screen for hours at a time? Try this stretch:
- Tilt your head down
- Roll your head to one side slowly and stay that way for 10 seconds
- Roll to the other side and hold that pose for 10 seconds
- Repeat steps a few times in each direction
Stretch Your Shoulders
To prevent your shoulders from tensing up, do the following steps:
- Lift both shoulders toward your ears
- Lower both shoulders
- Repeat steps about 10 times
